Last gpg key of 2019
The year is drawing to a close, the days are short, it’s time to rotate encryption keys? yep! In keeping with my policy, I have rotated the encryption subkey for my gpg key as it expired at the end of the month. This is only the encryption subkey, so the trust of the main signing key should remain the same for you.
The fingerprint remains the same as:
F535 AEEC C57B C4EE FE62 6871 B19C D619 …

A Few of my Favorite Things
It’s getting to be that time of year when people buy presents, gifts, and other little things for each other. It occurs to me that anyone thinking of getting me a gift might desire to get me one that is actually appreciated. So here is a list of things, some great and mostly modest, that are some of my favorite things.

PGP Key Updated
Just a quick note that I have updated my PGP key. The fingerprint and signing key are the same! I have only updated the encryption key.
Why would I do this? Well, to provide some manner of forward security. By rotating the encryption key, anyone who successfully compromised my key earlier will not have access to any messages sent to me with the new key. If someone compromises this key, they will …

A Quick Note: Lubuntu Language Support
I’m trying to add Chinese input to my Lubuntu 19.04 system on my laptop. No problem, so I would think. Found many sites that say:
Go to Preferences->Language Support
Do the rest of the thing
Except in the menu under Preferences, and I cannot stress this enough, there is no menu for language support
The fix is to do
apt-get install language-selector-gnome
Be nice if someone mentioned …
